The “Candy Bomber” Time Travel
1948, 1949 – an airliner is making history. The legendary Douglas DC-3 (C47) is supplying West Berlin with food, coal and drugs. Virtually overnight the Soviets had blocked all access to the “free Berlin”. But the Western Allies resolved a venturous counterplot: The airlift was born and soon the Berliners fondly named the transport aircrafts “Raisin Bombers”.
Our "Candy Bomber" Time Travel rolls back the clock to the times back then so you can feel the breath of history. A mix of show, swing and a genuine flying experience starts in our lounge. Enjoy music, sparkling wine and delicious snacks. In our cinema you will ultimately be carried back to the years 1948 and 1949. Impressive original film material will take your breath away. Trace the airlift pilots on their walk to the gangway. Marvel at our carefully restored aircraft and have a seat on comfortable leather armchairs. Now “ready for take off” – the flight will crown your travel through time.
Our pilots follow air routes which also had been flown by the Candy Bombers at the time of the airlift.

As of November 1st 2008 not only our popular Raisin Bomber Time Travel and our Captain’s Night will take place in our new Terminal C. Our helicopter as well will start from our new location. Expect new impressions and a spectacular event, the Berlin Panorama Flight .

"Captain’s Night"
Tracing the Extraordinary
Enjoying with all your senses: The Captain’s Night promises only the best: flying, history, amazement, show, live music – and finest gourmet food. The show will be hosted by the famous Christian Graf (i. a. RIAS Berlin). He will give you a fascinating show you won’t forget easily.
We will exclusively receive you in our Officer’s lounge. Afterwards Christian Graf will guide you through parts of the legendary Tempelhof Airport. Feel the history of “the mother of all airports” (Sir Norman Foster). Then the next highlight: A flight on board our Raisin Bomber. You will be flying over the metropolis of Berlin at an altitude of 600 meters. Our pilots will follow the original airlift routes. Experience the fascination of a flying legend and a breathtaking view across the capital region from an entirely new perspective.
After landing we will welcome you back in our Officer’s lounge. Our host will escort you through a night full of culinary delight and entertainment. Above all there will be live music. You will experience a unique atmosphere (with a view over the airfield) with exquisite food and exciting interviews all about the Raisin Bomber and the Tempelhof Airport.
